bad sound

well it seems there has always been this prob that wenever i play a video in vlc or media player the sound quality is not that good with many bumps one can say while i m using just my laptop speakers as the oytput medium but everything seems to b fine once i use my headphones .. pls somebody help me..thanx to all

Laptop speakers are poor at best. The headphones are a lot better. External "computer" speakers, connected to the headset jack, would even be better.
