Batman: Arkham Asylum Crashing at certain point

Hi, I've just got a new gfx card, mobo, hdd, win7 and batman for my PC. I've installed all the latest drivers and everything for windows is up to date.

I downloaded batman from steam quite happily and went to play it and it has been fine up to one point. After this (within a 10second range) the game will close down and I get the error:

Runtime Error!

Program:...mmon\batman arkham
asylum\Binaries\ShippingPC-BmGame.exe

This application has requested runtime to terminate in an
unusual way.


I play loads of other games and they are all fine but this error just keeps occuring so I can not continue playing the game. Please help.


I'm running:

Processor: Intel Q6600 2.4ghz
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Deluxe
Graphics Card: Gainward GTX 260 GS
Hard Drive: Western Digital 500Gb S-ATA
Memory: Corsair 2Gb DDR2
