Hey there,

Trying to install a Belkin Wireless or Retail Plus+ N USB Adapter, which the microsoft page says is compatible with Windows 7 (for the Belkin) and receiving an error basically saying the driver is not compatible with this operating system.

This is a brand new computer that came with Windows 7 installed and has 0 internet access right now....what can you suggest?

Also, I do have a wired internet access point in my house I can move it to, if there is something I need to download I can probably do this.

It's been hours, and I feel like I may have to take the whole thing back.

I would prefer to use the Retail Plus+ USB adapter for this system if given the choice, since the Belkin is in use on another computer in the house, but I'll take whatever is out there.

Thanks for all the tips. I ended up getting the Retail Plus+ Realtek adapter working by using a trick I had seen in here about a Belkin Wuireless G adapter, without having to being the PC online.

For some reason I couldn't get a list of driver files for the Belkin Wireless N adapter, but the Retail Plus+ Realtek adapter DID give me a list of apparent driver files.

I went in and clicked "Vista" and the adapter installed itself instead of just giving me the "we do not support this operating system" error.

Now, the internet seems to be working great...so far...won't push my luck.

For the Realtek adapter I couldn't even get far enough in the process to use compatability mode.
