Hi there

Been having some odd issues with my wireless adapter for a while. Every time I boot my computer or wake it from sleep, it doesn't recognise my Belkin wireless adapter. This is resolved quite simply by removing it and putting it back in. Bizarrely, if I take it out and put it back in immediately it doesn't work, I have to wait at least 5 or so seconds before putting it back in. It works perfectly well afterwards, I have no issues with it. I know it's a fault with the adapter as I have tried another adapter on this PC and it doesn't do the same thing. The only reason I use it is because the other one periodically seems to slow my connection to a crawl or give me limited connectivity on the WiFi, but that's another thread entirely! I figured this issue would be simpler to solve.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I'd have to know the exact model number of the Belkin adaptor in order to help you. :)

In most cases it's easier to simply purchase a newer wireless N adaptor like the D-Link DWA-140 for about 12 bucks on Amazon.

Hi chev, sorry yeah I should have posted that. It's F5D7050. I already downloaded the correct drivers for the model. I might look into getting a new adaptor, but I'm a student so ideally I'd rather not spend the cash :D

You might want to check the version number so as to install the correct driver. There seems to be a different driver for each version and only some of the versions have support for Windows 7.

A newer wireless N NIC could potentially increase wireless speeds by 6 times and the support would be better .

I definitely have the right driver, checked that before since I initially had the other versions and it didn't work full stop. I think buying a new adapter may well be the best idea, but just in case it's something simple that sorts this problem out I thought I'd try! Amazon has a few for around £8 in fact, so might be worth just getting it...
