Best Codec Pack for Windows 7

I need everyones suggestions for the best codec pack for Windows 7. I have 64bit. I was thinking of getting shark007's but I have no clue, I've been lazy and not got it yet.

Get the Shark007 codec pack + Media Player Classic Home Cinema x64. Perfect combo IMO.

Shark007 is a very good codec pack I prefer it over klite pack.

Be careful though not to break the Microsoft DVD/DTV codec, if you plan to use Mediacenter.

If you do plan on using Mediacenter read this first.

What is that about, will installing the Shark007 mess something up. I just want to make sure everything will play. I have a bunch of MKV files that I have to open to VLC to play and such.. I just need a codec. I don't want to mess with any Microsoft DVD/DTV Codecs or anything.

NO Shark007 codec does not mess or replace any Windows default codec. That is it speciality...

Providing you chose the right version.

Shark has made one especially for not messing up Live tv.

Other versions will.

well I don't see multiple versions on his site, there is just one for vista, and Win 7.. and then there is an add-on for x64 users. but that adds some DirectVOBSub thing so people can have subtitles in Media player, and I don't really need those. but should I still install the x64 add-on anyways.

I don't see more than one version of shark that says anything about one messing up default codecs?

It is recommended that you install x64 components as you system is 64 bit..

This is what it says on his Site.

MKV playback is fully supported.

The Win7codecs package which I have created does not change or interfere with what Microsoft has going on concerning native codec support in Windows Media Player 12 and Media Center.
DXVA accelerated H264 playback is provided by the codec package for all other capable players.

The latest release contains a new Settings Application which enables the user to choose a different splitters 'on the fly' for specific filetypes. The application will also allow you to choose from 10 different speaker configurations from 'same as input' and all the way up to full 7.1 channel output.

So I think I'm ok there.. Thanks for the input guys. I'll give it a try. Also it said it uninstalls other codec's. I have a few add-ons for foobar2000 as I listen to my FLAC music with that, it wont delete that stuff will it? I sure hope not

Klite codec cannot play some flv video in windows 7 but Shark007 codec plays those videos fine..

you know if you have downloadhelper for fire fox then just change the extension and you wont have to deal with flv you tube videos ever again xD

for years I've been using K-Lite Codec Pack, plays everything I throw at it.
