The prices seem to be dropping so much, I'm beginning to think they are coming out with some newer faster ones soon. Of course, the prices will be quite different for the newer ones.

From an OP's experience with Aria PC in a thread Steve and I are working, I'd not go there. OP has a bad GPU it seems, Aria tested it with Furmark for 30 minutes or so. :sarc:

Alan, is that inside information or wishful thinking? We can get 1 TB SSDs now, affordable? That depends on your income level, I guess.

You're correct you can get a 1tb now for an amazing price but it's no crystal ball that as time marches on in say 6 months to no more than a year we'll see solutions well over 1tb at competitive pricing. Also m-sata integrated on almost all mobo's hiding under our GPU's !

True, that. Not to mention that, on only a 28" screen, you would have to get within inches of the monitor for that resolution to be of much benefit. Plus, it takes a lot of graphics power to drive 4k properly, something on the order of three or four GPUs in SLI.

When I was shopping for my 32" TV, I compared 1080 with 720 and couldn't see any difference. It was only on the larger screens I could see a difference; even then, I had to get within three feet to see it.

I agree, at least for me. Keep in mind, I'm old and wear trifocals (and use dedicated glasses when working at the computer and when watching TV).

Pretty much any new generation single higher end GPU can run a 4K monitor.

I bought a 1440 28" last winter and was impressed, now I want a 4K. Been looking at the asus and samsung units.

True, but at a reduction in FPS. Most people going for a 4k monitor are going to be gamers; a reduction in FPS would be unacceptable.

Oh, I see now. The should change 1920 horizontal resolution to 1.92K to be consistent.

This is the lowest net price I've seen on this drive since I've been tracking it---2 years or so. I've recently seen a Toshiba 3 TB at 89.99, but didn't have the courage to buy it.

I pulled the trigger on one. I have all of my fingers crossed as the reviews for it and all other HDDs are shaky compared to several years ago--too many DOAs. But if you need the space, you have to take the plunge sooner or later.

The Red version reviews are no better. This is purely for data backup, so I don't need a high speed Black.
