It seems Newegg is becoming the rotten egg in the business. I hope they can stay in business though, they do have good product pictures. :huh:

And excellent descriptions. In the past year or so, they have really gone downhill. Every time I turn around, they are out of products or discontinuing them (or claiming to discontinue them). It's really a shame.

So i am not the only one who noticed they put a discontinued marker on products you can still find at other stores brand new what's up with that ?

I have noticed in some cases (at least in the past) that Newegg has the more current product listed - the latest version - and discontinues older versions as new stuff comes out.
Amazon, retail stores, and others tend to offer the old versions out for sale long after they are replaced. You have got to be aware.

I understand this as well but when it is a particular item you bought and you go to look it up either it's not listed or they have a discontinued on it already like the Z77 Sabertooth people still buy them but Newegg is done with them unless it's used or refurbished

I assume pretty soon it will be best to upgrade away from Z77 not sure when that will be though

True, all those are from China I think.

Tommy, I think the next upgrade maybe worth doing is the so called Haswell refresh, and the Z9x series chipset.

I am thinking maybe a year or two when i have the right money then i can rotate rigs around currently trying to dump one and some other stuff set my dad up with a saber and water cooling he is good and the response time is sweet nice upgrade for a long while

There have been unconfirmed rumors that the Z9x chips will support DDR4 too. I think that will take a whole new set of CPUs. People like to talk.

I think that's it. Discontinued at Newegg does not necessarily mean that it is discontinued by the manufacturer.

There was a couple of Japanese sellers listing the Sabertooth Z77 for over $12,000, but free shipping.

For 12,000, it should be hand delivered and built for you. Then it would be only 3 times the price it should be. I'll sell you all 3 of mine for $12,000.

Those crazy prices generally indicate the seller is out of stock, the price reverts to normal back when the item is back in stock.

System Builder is the same as OEM. Plus all that link leads to are Amazon Marketplace vendors selling the product, not Amazon itself. Many of Amazon's Marketplace vendors can be pretty dodgy. I won't even trust Amazon itself for software, let alone its Marketplace vendors, since Amazon has been known to sell counterfeits due to the use of questionable sources for its stock.
