Best Gaming Computer?:)

With enough money, laptops can be just as good as desktops (e.g.: Falcon DRX, Malibal Nine).

If you don't need to bring it anywhere, get a desktop. Better bang for buck. You need to be more specific in your question, e.g. choice between what models.

WOW that Malibal is serious business !!! but surely you want a long life battery for a portable or really there is no point, might as well get a desktop.

In all seriousness a top of the range desktop tromps all over the most powerful laptop and it will still have years of upgrade-ability in it, no competition! A laptops main selling point is it's mobility.

I prefer PC, if you melt your graphic card if seem you just throw only your graphic card. But if lappy, u throw it all (Gcard build-in on Mobo). Pc u can upgrade hardware but lappy it limited.

Cooling area:
Pc u can install watercooler system or gaming heatsink.
Lappy i think u cant do any mod on heat sink. Just cooler pad only help reduce heat 5% - 10% only.
Lappy keyboard easy to broke if too much hitting up down left and right or ASDW key. cost you some $$ to replace.

You don't want to game on a Mobile PC, not unless you have a choice between one or the other (Mobile vs. Desktop) and can't afford both. I couldn't afford both, what I could afford to do was to choose the best Notebook I could with a decent GPU to get some decent gaming out of it, while also not sacrificing mobility and freedom (after being tethered to a Desktop for 6 years, I was fed up with being "tied down", I'm sure many can sympathize lol).

However, ALL MOBILE PCS SUFFER FROM INFERIOR HEAT DISSIPATION! That is the true problem with gaming on a Mobile PC... sure, the hardware can handle the games if it has the right specs... but can the cooling systems handle the heat generated from all of that straining and stressing on the hardware, in a tightly packed tuna-can of a case??? The answer is usually NO! It is a WASTE to put really good hardware into a Mobile PC for this reason, yes it CAN handle the games... BUT NO IT CANNOT HANDLE THE HEAT!!!

Let me share this with you... my system can handle TES IV: Oblivion beautifully on High settings... BUT, because of the problem every Mobile computer shares with another, the issue of heat, the ambient temps skyrocketed well beyond the "TJunction Max" (the absolute max temp a CPU can handle) within a mere 40 minutes of play. What happens is the system will immediately shut itself down as soon as that number is reached... if this happens often enough, the system will eventually fry, OR, it will become damaged to the point of becoming sluggish and just an absolute pain in the @$$ to have to use anymore (that is what happened to my old Dell Dimension 3000).

So, moral to the story is that if you don't REALLY care about being able to move around from place to place, opt for a proper Desktop rig. They offer by far superior heat dissipation, cost less for better technology, and they can be upgraded or gutted for parts for future builds.

It's a win-win.

As a matter of fact, I am planning on retiring my Notebook PC from gaming within the next year. I am scrimping and saving every penny I have or will make over the course of this year so that I can replace it with a pretty good AM3 CrossFire X build, over $1,200 (maybe less, prices could drop - fingers crossed!).

This system will become my secondary, my backup... my 'travel' buddy (be it only just to the living room or when I'm visiting other's homes). ;)

You can build a mid range system. A p55 mobo and a i5- 750. On air you can over clock the 750 to like 4.2. With a good video card it will smoke everything other than other intel i7 systems.

You can see tons reviews and bench after bench. The lil i5- 750 smokes all amd cpu's even the black 6 core cpu, in all games other than maybe dirt2. The 750 smokes the amd's and most everything else in just about everything other than some programs etc that use more that 4 cores. Gaming, Only the i7's are any comp for the i5 750.

You can get a p55 mobo- i5-750 cpu- cpu cooler and 4 to 8 gigs of memory for about $500.00 bucks. Soon as I can get a better video card, Im going to learn how to over clock my cpu, good to go..

Have fun. See ya..

Most reviews have the 750/60 as the best bang for buck gaming chip, games do not support HT so.......

Aw shit bummer! I live and study in the UK!!!! It only Ships in US-Canada!!! Too good to be true^^
This is off topic but still applies somewhat.
Seems like every time someone asks this kinda question or about buying any parts. They haven't selected a flag in their usercp or filled in their system specs.

The later in this case isn't the point but after what 2 pages we finally find out your not in the US which everyone presumes, so besides your budget we need to know where you would most likely be looking to buy from.

Please don't take this as me trying to be ugly I'm just pointing out how much this happens.

Hmm, Now I see its a p67 socket. Maybe even a lil better than my p55. Has a NB and 2x 16x vid slots, and I would guess sataIII and usb3 will not put a hit on the system if say gaming, I am not sure.

I bought my mobo it has a added chip so not to hit the cpu or pcie performance, but the cpu runs the pcie slots. On this other msi mobo the north bridge runs the pcie etc.

Price are the same as the p55. Said better than the p55. It is new and has teething pains. I guess depends on who you are talking too. I do think I like this mobo better than mine tho, has the hi c caps and extra cooler and 3 year warranty and sli/cf too.

This mobo has no fdd or ide support. Too late for me tho..>

Can still get a mobo cpu and cooler and memory for like $500. bucks.
