I am working for a few weeks in a shared office with wifi -

Is it enough to just turn off network discovery?

Thanks"!

You might want to go to the Network and Sharing center and set your network type to Public. I think your PC will still show up if network discovery is turned off. Turning it off on your PC will just stop you from seeing other PC's on the network, not the other way around. If you don't need it, you could also turn off file and print sharing. If they can't see your shared folder they won't try to access it.

A tutorial on another forum outlined this - good idea?

1-Click start menu/run
2-type cmd/click OK
3-type the command "net config server /hidden:yes" in the command prompt window and hit enter

Seems nice and simple....

disable ICMP and DNS on your windows firewall - You'll still have a DNS/MAC listing on the router (but if you want internet, you have no choice)
