Best way to test FPS

I currently do this by using FRAPS but i heard this can be inaccurate and decrease them what is the most common or best way to test out the FPS?

The most common way is by using FRAPS. As for it being inaccurate... it can sometimes feel a little off.

The only other 'real' alternative, is if the game itself has it's own FPS counter / benchmark tool.

You are best off using fraps as a general guide 'guide'

ok cool its the only app ive seen so far thats worked well IMO anyway

What SE said is pretty much right. Most review sites also use FRAPS to record FPS if the game itself has no in-game FPS counter as well.

Fraps is the only way. Some games have a fps monitor or a benchmark tool built in. Street fighter 4 has both.
