Big painful drivers problem

Hi everyone, I start by saying that I'm new in this forums, and I've just registered here with the hope to find finally the solution to my problem.

So here's what my problem is about: in every game that I play, starting from old ones like GTA San Andreas to the new one like Battlefield Bad Company 2, I get a black screen, with the sound playing in the background and the only thing I can do is restarting the pc everytime.
What's worse is that it happens randomly and not furthermore than 1-2 minutes that I'm in the game, it's just a matter of time.

I've tried very many solutions, basically all the ones I read into all the 200 topics I found regarding this, but nothing fixed my problem: firstly cleaned my PC inside as I was told that was a solution, then I uninstalled all the ambiguous programs or even those very large, then I even formated (2 days ago).

Just today I started installing programs back, ESET antivirus and only the very important ones, trascuring the useless ones.

As soon as I installed the drivers, I got again that problem which pissed me off a lot after all what I've done: what's very hilarious is that I installed the latest AMD Catalyst Drivers (13.9 and then tried also 13.12 if I'm not wrong), which in the description are described as the appropriate ones.

My graphic card is AMD Radeon 6700 HD Series, and my operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I will be very grateful to whoever gives me a solution to this painful problem.

Thanks for advance and I hope I will finally find my solution and the begin of my peace!

PS: I'm not really much into computering, but I tried to describe my problem as detailed as I could, if you guys need any other information I will provide it.

Welcome to the forums!

Some system spec.'s would help quite a bit. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

I've been looking my system specs with "Run - DxDiag".

Here the results:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30 GHz
Dual Core of 465 GB each
Directx 11
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon 6700 HD Series
Chip: AMD Radeon Graphic Processor (0x68BF)

Let me know if you need anything else, thanks for your reply.

Also keep in mind even with fans a regular dust out with compressed air of the CPU, GPU, PSU and all case fans is recommended at least 2-3 times a year and if on for long periods or with pets or high dust then every 30-45 days would be my recommended interval.

I agree with line; its always a good idea to get in the habit of cleaning the dust out of the computer case and components as dust can create a blanket like effect that may cause components to get too hot and can cause issues.

Can someone explain me what a "fan" is please? also about cleaning the dust out of my PC, I did that no more than 4 days ago.

Update on the status: in the BIOS settings I ticked the option "Run on full performance" instead of the controlled one, and I start running games on x16 bit colors...didn't get a blank screen yet till now, BUT right 30 minutes ago I got one more again on firefox.

Regards and thanks those who are trying to help me out.

Edit: now again happening a lot.

This is not exactly how your video card will look like - but it shows the fan about half way thru:

I did not listen to the audio - so I don't know what the guy said...
...hence no endorsement of the info presented.

I'm also not suggesting that you replace a fan as shown,..
...it is just the first video that I found for you.

Do not use a regular vacuum cleaner to clean dirt/dust from a computer. Compressed air was mentioned or take it to a professional.

Also when cleaning fans many suggest to block the fan from spinning wildly as the fan can turn the motor into a generator to create unwanted current.

Very interesting!: I probably would have never thought of this one; but now that i take a moment to think about it; i can see why. Even while spinning it with the computer off(which should ALWAYS be done while dusting out the case etc.); it can create "back-current"; and possibly give a surge to other components on the board.(possibly unless you are sure to unplug the system and hold the power button for about 5-10 seconds to release any current then I think you should be ok).

No - you will not be ok.
Edit: I did not mean that to sound so harsh :-(

Almost any motor can become a generator...
...just like almost any speaker can become a microphone.

If you spin a fan, you make electricity - albeit, inefficiently.

If you cause a speaker to vibrate, you make electricity - albeit, inefficiently.

A well built supply circuit can handle the current generated by cleaning the fan :-)
Not all supply circuits are built well :-(
Be safe. Prevent the fan from spinning too fast if compressed air is being used to clean it.

...and then there is the danger of ESD that fast moving air generates :-(

Guys I think that the best solution (and probably even the only one) is to change my graphic card.

At this point, I'm not even trying to find another solution, because of the time wasted, the unbearable attempts which turned into total disappointment and because I think it's the best thing to do.

Just one last question: what's better, an ATI Radeon 5850 HD Series or a ATI Radeon 7750 HD Series ? In your opinion.

Oops once again i made a boo boo by saying you should be ok. You are right though you won't be ok as ur right any type of fan motor etc can generate electricity still.

So guys, right now I'm having this doubt.

If I will change my graphic card to another one this problem is 100% sure that it will be fixed?
