First of all

I got the compuer Acer aspire G7200 Predator "defender"

Link for spec: Acer Aspire Predator G7200 Ranger reviews, prices and deals - 4GB of Memory PC

Now where to begin...

I decided to install a fresh copy of windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, i boot up the cd that i just burned, Choose the language and region thingy, click next and then install.

This is where my first error came which is:

"Load Driver

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

Note: if the windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."

I googled the problem and notice some got that error because of a bad burn so i decided to burn another one at slowest speed available. Still got the same problem. I then went and got my Windows 7 professional CD which is original and came with an older pc i got. Still the same problem. Even tried with original Vista CD at no avail.

I kept on troubleshooting and someone said that using an usb flash drive would help, so i thought why not.

I used the program "Windows 7 USB DVD download tool" that i got from microsofts website too burn the .iso to the usb stick. I plug the usb in and start the windows 7 installation. This time however i got one step futhur.

Now i got to the step where i can format and pick whatever partition i want my windows installed on, and when i pick C:\ I get this error:

"Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition"

I tried for an few hours got angry and "accidently" broke my usb stick

I still kept on troubleshooting the problem, not sure where i saw this but somone mention using an external hdd, followed the guide on how to manage and unzip the .iso on the external hdd, plugged it in, started the windows 7 installer yet again and sure i got one step closer again. This time to the installation of the windows, yay

But! (unlucky me) got another error! as following:

"Error 0×80070017 Windows cannot copy files required for installation. These files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installtion are available, and restart the installation Error code: 0×80070017"

I have no idea what to do next, ive tried everything including: Vista (orginal cds) Professional (Original cds) and multiple burned cds. Nothing works!

Oh, yeah. i formated the entire hdd so i have no OS at all anymore... bummer...

I probably forgot somthing but this is all i remember for now, if you require anything else please ask away and thank you for the help.

If you are copying files from a "corrupted" disk (a.k.a from the CD you have/had already) then that error you are getting means that the files are also corrupted. That error code means that the disk is bad. Regardless if you copied the file to another hard drive or not. For some reason you are getting an actual CRC error. Which means that the way you are trying to copy the files and or read that Windows 7 OS is resulting in an error and the files are not being copied correctly from the CD/DVD to the hard drive.

Question: Did you burn that DVD with your new computer or with another one?

Sounds to me that your DVD burner is bad or that you need to update the Firmware to the latest and the greatest...

BTW... I do not think ALL of your OS CDs/DVDs are bad...especially if you tried all of them and the end result was a CRC error... :(

I think with the flash drive you should succeed. But I would first define an active, primary partition on the disk. Use these commands:

Diskpart
List disk
Select disk n (where n is the number that was given for your disk in List disk)
Clean
Create partition primary
Format fs=ntfs quick
Active
Exit

Which Win7 version do you wish to use on the new machine and how do you plan to activate it?

Download the latest ISO for your licensed version and burn to DVD using tool provided in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 .

Reset the BIOS to defaults. While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install. Set DVD drive first to boot in BIOS setup. Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

Now boot the DVD System Recovery Options Command Line to wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command.

Close the Command Box, click Install now, choose Custom install, at drive selection screen click Next to auto-create and format HD and begin install: Clean Install Windows 7

If this fails test your HD with maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan, followed by Disk Check from DVD Command Line after creating a full disk partition to check using whs partitioning commands above.

Next test your RAM with Memtest86 for 5-6 passes. Remove all but 2gb RAM to try install, then swap RAM sticks checking slots for debris.
