Hi there,
so I'm fixing a laptop which suddenly started getting BSODs:

The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant.
STOP: 0xA5 (0x1000, 0x0, 0x55AA55AA, 0xFFFF0091)

It was running Windows 7 before but suddenly it started getting the 0xA5 BSOD no matter what was attempted. So I got the PC and tried booting from linux USB stick to test HDD and RAM - No problems. I figured since it was able to run under Linux I should be able to simply reinstall Win7 but sadly I was mistaken. When I try to install Win7 it simply shows the "Windows is loading files..." screen after which it shows the "Windows starting" screen and then BSOD. I tried with Win7 32 & 64 bit + Win8 64bit..

I've done a ton of research by now and tried avoiding the ACPI check (spamming F7 at some point during install) but I cant get that to work. I tried wiping the HDD after reading a thread in here somewhere. I tried different hdds, pulling out some of the ram, nothing works. The most frustrating part is, I can install and run Linux (Mint) with no problems - so surely I must be able to get Windows installed somehow ? (It must run Windows)

Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated!

If i try to install Windows 7 in safe-mode.. The BSOD appears right after it has loaded DRIVERS/disk.sys..
Btw I have tried both with an without AHCI enabled... doesn't matter
