Hey guys, I'm new to these forums, but I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what might be going wrong with TrackMania on my Windows 7 x64 Home Premium laptop? I'm trying to run the original version of TrackMania, the version from 2004, and I was able to run and play the game perfectly for a week, and then all of a sudden, the game would only show a black screen upon startup. I've done everything I could think of doing, like setting administrative properties and reinstalling, but nothing seems to make the game work again. Is there a way to get the game to run again? Any replies would be helpful! Thanks! :D

Anything that changed in the system? Updates etc?

You can try:
- Different compatibility options
- Reinstall DirectX 9.0c (or is it OpenGL?)
- a clean startup http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ation-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html
- maybe install Visual C++ Redistributable 2005 - both x64 and x86 versions (just in case)
- anything in Event Viewer regarding this?
- any logs in game folders?

- you can try GLDirect 5 - it's an OPenGL-to-DirectX wrapper, you just copy it to where game exe is and it translates to DirectX GLDirect download | SourceForge.net

I've tried everything you stated, but nothing seemed to work. There was nothing in Event Viewer and there were no logs in the game's folder either. I also tried applying different No CD patches, because if I don't, it will try to install StarForce Protection, but nothing changed the game's performance. TrackMania still shows a black screen for a few seconds and then throws me back to the desktop. Thanks for your reply though. :(

That was pretty much all I could think of.

One last thing I can come up with is, try with another account. Otherwise, maybe you can get better help from Trackmania fan forums.
