While playing archeage and only archeage iv been experiencing black screen crashes where the screens turn black and the fans all ramp up to max then i have to hold the power down to turn it off and restart. Its completely random when it happens it could just be the game but i don't believe that's the case. i have a 850 corsair PSU with modular cables and i replaced the thermal compound on the GPU but to no avail it still happens. any help would be appreciated. also my drivers are up to date and iv tried other driver versions. the following link is my logs

i7-3770k cpu 3.50ghz
radeon 6970 HIS ICE Q
850 modular corsair PSU
Z77 sabertooth asus motherboard

TuTuRU, most likely it is the game. This is at least ten times I've dealt with the same cases involving that same game. The dump files will always blame the graphics driver. If the game crashes, the graphics driver is the one most prominently In use and will crash by default. You only have 1 crash dump in a month. Do you have software that monitors your CPU and GPU temps? If not I can suggest something. There were references I saw to memory, but it is not necessarily your ram, but could be. You had one dump file from yesterday 10/15 and the one before it was on 9/13. I don't doubt you had problems between those, just they did not create dump files. This is what the dump file from yesterday said
Code:
VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED (117)
The display driver failed to respond in timely fashion.
[COLOR=red](This code can never be used for a real bugcheck.)[/COLOR]
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa800a0ea010, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffff8800480b038, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g owner tag).
Arg3: 0000000000000000, The secondary driver specific bucketing key.
Arg4: 0000000000000000, Optional internal context dependent data.

Try reinstalling the latest Graphics driver using the instructions below:

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/329659-latest-amd-catalyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

We can run further tests if you would like, but I believe the game is the problem. A true test is that it never happens in other games. If you get another BSOD, please upload the http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html also, please tell me the temps of your CPU and GPU while playing the game or any other strenuous activity as well.

Thank you for your time in answering my post i have taken the explained steps and will run the game for a while to see if the problem has been fixed. my GPU temps are between 81c and 88c while running the game on high settings with directx 11 on. my CPU doesn't go above 41, water cooling is great.

That's really too high for your GPU. I would suggest setting a custom fan profile and setting it much higher than it is, taking a can of compressed air and cleaning the fans and radiator off, as well as the interior of the case and turning the graphics settings in the game down. If that won't help. take the side off the case side and point a house fan inside the case. That should make a serious cooler case.

The temperature went down to 78c after the changes. I have recently cleaned my gpu and case out so no worries. i was using the house fan on my computer before making this thread since i thought it was a heat problem. thanks again will mark this as solved after a good few hours with no problem.

OK, but that's still a little bit high. You may want to wait a few days to make sure. But, it doesn't matter. Just post here again and I'll be notified and we can work on it some more.
