Both IE 8 and firefox won't load certain sites, they just come up blank saying done it's not many but enough to be annoying and refreshing doesn't help. It's not my network as my other pc loads them fine. I've tried all the usual things, reseting all, including winsock, DNS flush. uninstalling and reinstalling IE. all to no avail, any ideas anyone?

Excuse me, but what does the latest Java have to do with pages not loading? There are very few Java apps on the web anymore and one can live just fine without it being on the system.

Perhaps you didn't know, even though you have the MVP credentials' that Java is NOT Javascript ?

Thanks for your help, I've done the above but it has not helped, and now Java has disappeared from my list of internet browser add ons! I can't get it back. Interestingly I did have multiple versions listed both in Programs and features and in add ons before I uninstalled.

Can you run IE 32bit without addons and try the website again? Is it just 1 website that's not displaying properly?

Hi, thanks again, how do I try switching DNS?
It is more than one website, but not all, maybe one in fifty? It's very strange and frustrating. They dont work with or without add ons, in either 32 or 64bit IE. It started about a month ago, when I got my Home network going.

When you hit a blank page, do you have any error icons in the lower left hand corner of your browser?
Can you use Firefox to see the exact same webpage?

Select your connection, right click>properties>networking>double click IPv4> Use the following DNS server and key in the server address of whatever you want to use, be it Norton DNS, OpenDNS, Google DNS etc.

If connected via Ethernet, have you tried disconnecting the working PC and connecting the problematic PC to that cable?

Hi Qmass55,

Definitely worth a try. If you find that it works when directly connected but not when connected wirelessly, it will give us an area to troubleshoot.

Dwarf, if I google Tesco Kinect then click on the Tesco sponsered link at the top of the list it goes blank and says done at the bottom, but if I put in Tesco direct, I can go on to that site.
