I have been strugling with the blue ray technology for a long time.

Some blue rays work such as the lord of the rings trillogy while others such as Avatar do not.

The software I am using is Cyberlink Power DVD 9.

They have since outmoded this software and moved on to 12 leaving me here with problems unless I pay their $100 fee to get their new software.

I dont want to get new software evary year so is there a free solution to this?

What do you guys suggest I do?

Free solution: Download and run DVDFab Passkey Lite in the background. Free DVD Decrypter,Blu-ray Decrypter from DVDFab. Get Free DVDFab products, and try out DVDFab for free.

Pros: Free.

Cons: You may not be able to play some of the recently released BDs with newer protection algorithms. DVDFab may take upto 1 to 3 months to release updates to cover the new protection algorithms for the free version.

Best Sloution: Lifetime subscription of AnyDVDHD. SlySoft Download | AnyDVD, CloneDVD, CloneCD, GameJackal, Any DVD, Clone DVD, Clone CD, Game Jackal

Pros: Updates are released within a few days of the appearance of new protection algorithms.

Cons: It costs.

But keeps you going. without the necessity of shelling out substantially for each new upgrade of the software player. You may continue to use your old version software player.

Take your pick depending upon your disposition.

Another workaround: Convert into mkv with MakeMKV and play. MakeMKV - Make MKV from Blu-ray and DVD

Cons: Bluray decryption and processing is free only during the current beta phase.
