I have an HTPC running Win 7 32-bit and a Liteon BD drive iH212. All firmware and drivers are correct and it always played Blu Ray discs with no problem. I have been using Arcsoft, no longer supported, and downloaded several trial versions of Blu Ray software, like WinDVD 11. It Installs fine as a Window Media Center plugin. Plays DVDs fine.
But when I put in a genuine Blu Ray disc now, it loads, even gets to the FBI warning screen, and then I get a "WINDVD has stopped working" error message and the program closes. I've tried a few other programs - same thing.
After spending some time on this, it occurred to me that I haven't played a blu ray in some time - not since upgrading to Service Pack 1/2. Could that have something to do with this? Incorrect codecs? Digital certs or permissions missing?
If so, how do I fix the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help!
