blue screen

Hey guys, i have been getting a blue screen on a regular basis for the past 3-4 months (didn't want to figure out the problem then because i didn't want to have to format anything that would make me lose my precious files and programs i needed to finish university project)

anyways, to cut it straight to the point, someone i will have my computer on sleep mode, and as i go to reopen it from sleep mode, a blue screen appears.

what could be causing this problem? i imagine i'll need to give some information about my system, so i'll start with this..

It's a Dell studio XPS 1645 (Intel i7 720 processor, 4G of RAM, ATI mobility Radeon HD 4670) running on windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

Love to help but there were no DMP files in the upload use this method instead

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Also, make sure CCleaner is configured to not delete dump files.

this would explain why it is empty. i remember looking in the minidump file a month or so ago and found a dozen files and now its empty. i'll have to wait till blue screen comes back a couple times and i'll be sure to have CCleaner memory dump disactivated. thanks

I got a couple of blue screen over the past few days. should i run the BSOD instructions again or just zip the minidump file??
