Solved Boot and System on two different disks - how do I fix this?

My PC had one hard disk with Windows XP installed. Everything ran fine.
I then fitted a second hard disk into the PC and installed Windows 7 on it, and it allowed me to dual boot into either OS.
I have since removed the Windows XP installation and wiped the XP disk. I then could not boot and used the Windows 7 disk to do a boot repair. It recreated the Boot folder on the old XP drive and still gave a choice of booting into Windows 7 or Windows 7 (recovered).

I used EasyBCD to remove the unwanted one. The PC boots and runs fine, BUT
I now have:-
Disk 1 (MBR) D: NTFS marked as System Primary (This disk has the Boot folder on it)
Disk 2 (MBR) C: NTFS marked as Boot Primary (This disk has the Windows folder on it)

In reality the Windows 7 folder is located on disk C: but the Boot Folder sits on disk D:

How can I get the Boot folder on to drive C: so I can completely erase drive D: and remove it?

Any help appreciated as I am tearing my hair out with this.

1) Physically disconnect the Win XP HD.
Make the Windows 7 HD, disk 0 & first HD boot in BIOS.Also connected to the first Sata port on the MOBO.

2) Mark the Windows 7 HD Drive ACTIVE

3) http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html?ltr=S
Note: You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

4) When Windows is booting OK, Reconnect the other Win XP HD, as Disk 1.

5) Mark the Win XP HD Drive INACTIVE

Thanks to Theog as well.
VistaKings use of EasyBCD (which I had installed) worked, so I did not have to try your method.
Nevertheless I thank you for taking the trouble to reply and help.

Theog provided the solution which has been used by these forums since before Win7 was even released. In fact it was developed here.

It is the only solution that covers all parameters which must be reset and repaired when moving the bootmanager.

Using EasyBCD may be more convenient but it does not restore the Repair My Computer link on F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu. This can only be done easily by running Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times after marking C Active.
