Solved Boot to black screen with blinking cursor, fresh install, not hdd

Kaen,
I've reviewed the thread and things just aren't meshing.

Disconnect that 1.5 TB drive that you hooked up internally.
Disconnect power from the drive. Disconnect data from the drive.

No connections to the drive.

This step is going to take some time but is necessary because of one of your replies.

I want you to perform a CLEAN ALL on the remaing 1 TB drive.

This will take a long time. You will be able to watch a couple of sporting events during the time.

After the clean all make a CLEAN INSTALL.
Use this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

I want you to use the System Repair Disc that you made to run CLEAN ALL.

I'm sorry Karl but with the greatest respect I must disagree.

It isn't necessary to Clean All except to overwrite data you don't want retrievable by recovery methods.

All troubleshooting purposes - e.g. install or boot failures blocked by bad boot code - are accomplished by the quick Diskpart Clean Command.

This was debated years ago and settled in the this Diskpart Clean All debate thread.

Greg, you do your thing. I guarantee you that i know what I'm doing.

And what is that, may I ask?

What corrective action can Diskpart Clean All provide that simple Clean command cannot? I have not seen it in dealing with this daily here for three years.

Karl, Greg thank you both for your efforts in the end your knowledge led me to stumble upon something that for the time being works and to me if it works i am satisfied. Thank you and if this problem returns or a new one emerges i will have more questions undoubtedly able to be answered by someone like you. Thanks guys.
