I have a Vaio E series

Months ago, it's boot up time was normal around 50-60 sec. But now, it started to slow,I went to msconfig>startup> and only synaptics pointing device driver, microsoft windows operating system, and catalyst control center are enabled.
But in services there are alot that are running(i hide all microsoft services)

google update service
intel rapid storage
intel management and security application local management service

vaio event service
vaio power management
vaio content folder wather
vaio content metadata intelligent analyzing manager
vaio content metadata intelligent network service manager

thanks

Im surprised that you did not find the problem. There is only one other tweek that I know; results are doubtful
Go to msconfig
boot
advanced
tick the number of processors box and put the highestest number.
If it does not help just put it back the way it was
You may have to disable the UAC

Its your decision as to whether the problem warrants that much effort.

Nothing changed. I think the norton internet security is the one which makes this slow. what do you think?

You've got a lot of non-windows-native services running in that list in your first post. You need to google for each, identify what each does and whether you need it, then set service type to disabled/manual/automatic and stop/start the service per requirement. As far as I can see there're many there you dont need running.

Go ahead and start googling for each, if theres something you cant figure out post here and we'll help.

Bill has given you a very good suggestion and you should give it a try. Dont forget about the AV, it may be the source of many problems.

Eventhough I google it, I still can't understand whether I'll disable it or not. The ones that I posted are the services that aren't still disabled. I disabled some services like the bonjour, ipod services, some vaio entertainments.
