Bootmgr is corrupt - lagging install

Hi I'm new here and I have a big problem. I got my new computer at Christmas time and up until now its worked great. This morning my computer was lagging as was the internet to i rebooted and i saw bootmgr is corrupt - system cannot boot. I went to repair it with the win7 disc but the 'loading files' bit seems to take ages and it takes forever for the language and keyboard selection screen to come up. When i hit repair or new instal (ive tried both) it seems to be loading but then a black screen will appear and the dics in my comp will be spinning, but then nothing happens. The red loading light on my tower seems to blink on a repeated pattern.

I was told that the bootmgr problem would be solved my repairing but as i said i cant get that far.

I know this is an odd issue but can anyone help?

Test your memory for 5-6 passes or overnight to stress it: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Test your HD using maker's diagnostics/repair extended CD scan: HD Diagnostic
Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp

Try also tapping the F8 key at boot to see if the Repair console is on the Advanced Boot Options and if so see if Startup Repair works better from there. If not, try burning a Repair CD to see if any different: System Repair Disc - Create

If you can get better functionality from the DVD or REpair CD, if necessary you can copy out your data this way: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console or using Paragon Rescue CD freeware.

Then you can run Factory Recovery using the hotkey given on the first boot screen or in your manual, or clean reinstall using these tips to get a perfect reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7

Well last night i ran a repair using the win7 dvd, when it finished it retarted then instead of Bootmgr is corrupt it said disk read error occured.
i tried running a memoey check but a message poped up saying it was unable to run a memchk and i had to restart and run it manualy, but i am una ble to do that because of the disk read error msg.

Well i ran all kins of tests and the comp has some excuse for not beig able to complete them all so ive come to the conclusion that the HDD is done.
Thing is, i went to reinstal windows again and i managed to get to the partition options screen (delete, format ...etc) and it looked like each partition was empty because total space and free space were the same. Anyway the instalation didnt happen, another error, but i was wondering if maybe this coruption my HDD has suffered had totaly erased my primary disk...any thoughts?

You are not booting the memtest CD, it is trying to boot the HD. Use the one time Boot Menu key given on first boot screen to boot the CD, or follow this:
How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD - Boot to CD
Burn the bootable CD's using Windows Image Burner.

We need to know that you are booting the CD"s correctly to run these tests, then exactly what is happening with each one. YOu are not giving enough information to determine what is wrong.

WHen you get the drives screen which asks where do you want to install Windows, can you use Drive Options to delete, partition and format? Clean Install Windows 7

Try wiping your HD of all code to see if it will install: HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Ive been using the Windows 7 install disc to boot, rather than what is on my HDD. When the menu appears (big install button with Repair computer to the bottom left of it) i click on repair computer. This takes ages to load up, lonmger than it ever took before. When the repair options come up (repair, system restore, memory check...etc) i click on the memory test, prompts me to restart the computer then an error msg pops up telling me that there is something preventing the memtest from operating and that i must restart the computer and do it manualy by booting the win7 dvd (what im already doing). I cant get onto my desktop. after the bios screen i recieve disk read failed or something like that and tells me to press Alt+Ctrl and Del to restart the comp.

Use memtest86 CD to test the memory.

Once again, I give you several questions to respond and you only respond to the first one. This is an interactive process requiring full response from you so we can move on to the next steps. If you want help you need to be a lot less Hazy and concentrate on each step, answer back thoroughly to each step given, ask back any questions you have or report fully what happened.

Well your hdd sounds like it failed.

OP needs to test his HD to be certain of this. That was the second troubleshooting step I gave several posts back in #3. He hasn't made it past the first step yet.
