BOOTMGR missing, made a mistake with partitions

I was resizing some partitions on my laptop running win 7 when I set the c: drive to active. I got a warning that the partition should have an OS on it and so I thought there wouldn't be a problem. Well when I reboot, I get "BOOTMGR missing" and I can't boot. I think the boot manager was on another partition.

So how do I fix this? I don't have a rescue disk and I did not received the win 7 dvd when I got this laptop.

You need to set the correct partition active again.

If you have a 1oomb partition that will probably be it.

Oem's will sometimes have set on of their recovery partitions active.

Get a boot disc of some kind - partition wizard free boot disc will do Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition ...

How many partitions do you have? What partition was active?
On what machine you're working now is that also win7? same version as non booting machine (so 32 or 64 bits)?

I'm using my PC which runs on Winxp. The laptop has 4 partitions, and I made c: active. yeah I guess the boot manager is on the other partition (smaller, "hidden" one). Sorry, I'm not that tech savvy

can I run the MiniTool Partition Wizard on a USB flash drive? The DVD burner on my PC isn't working
