Solved BOOTMGR Missing question

So I have a single HDD.

About a year ago this was split into 2 separate partitions, 50/50

On Partition C: I have my primary Windows 7 Home installed...

On Partition D: I have an older version of Windows, that 7 replaced... I just kept the old one so I would not lose important data, etc... and just kept it longer then I should have. I finally decided to get rid of it, and merge the partitions...

Only problem is that I accidently left D: set as the Active Partition and thus it could not be deleted/formated/etc...

So, I thought. "ok, make C: the active partition!" so I did. Reboot...

BOOTMGR is missing.

Ok, well fine... at least its not the end of the world and data is not lost. I've been there before...

I just need to restore the BOOTMGR on the correct partition.... and I want to be sure I do it correctly.

I do have my original Win7 Home installation DVD; and I am presuming that I can fix this problem with that disc?

Can someone guide me on the proper process so I do it correctly and don't accidentally cause a "reinstall a fresh new copy/wipe out all my stuff/cause the world to blow up/etc" type of mistake?

Yes, the above has resolved the issue, I'm back up and running properly now with everything as it should be; though now also with both partitions restored into a single partition and no more 'old' version of Windows on the side!
