I can't help, only second the complaint. I'm not sure if you're talking about Broadcom modems, or Bluetooth device management in general. Whatever the case may be, there seems to be a cold shoulder from Broadcom when you approach them as a Windows 7 64 user. First you can read an explanation, as did I, thinking, "let me educate myself a little bit on this, and see if I might ascertain the next step based on that.
Well, that's a nice dream I had there. The explanation, was that there really is no such thing as "bluetooth drivers" per se. ..HUH??
Go there now, and see if you the reader don't glean that from your perusal of Broadcomms "helpful" site. It seems geared towards higher end business users, and selling other products, rather than any "customer support". I guess the logic is, you're just a lowly user, they never actually "sold YOU" anything! Right?- That's how I felt!
Then, if after that twilight zone explanation, they have a nice big package download for Windows 7. It was like, there's no real drivers, but if you insist, here, download this. Another window pops up before it can begin downloading, of course the "EUA". Seemed to make my processor stall, after I clicked "Agree". I remember this because I've downloaded this, deleted it, and downloaded it again. The reason for that is , IT NEVER INSTALLS ! ! !
NO! It starts to extract the files, and passed one of four check marks to the right of the window. As soon as it passes the 1st check, which it seems to approve, it goes straight to a RED X - "On older version of this software has been found, please remove it and then try re installing the new software.
Which, of course is impossible, it seems, because of that great Telecom double-talk word. BUNDLED
I never liked it when I 1st heard it as a telecom employee, back in '97, (Bell Atlantic prior to name change to Verizon).
Bundled originally meant, "a package" deal. Like the only way to get C, D, and E, was to subscribe to A+B. So there was
no "unbundling" in essence.
I've tried emailing support at Broadcom, to no avail. Same with the company that makes the Bluetooth Headphones I'm trying to use with my Sony Vaio VPCEA24FM Windows 7 64. They pair quite fast. Then register in "my devices", along with every other device, that all have the yellow exclamation point. Thanks programmers, I don't need a Yeild sign with the wrong symbol on it to know when somethings not working! Now I know why these kids sit at a full stop at a yield sign!
