Ok well my laptops dvd drive snaped in half is it possible to get a replacement?
my laptop model is acer 5315-2848
i know how to replace it but cant find the part number. or would it be better to just buy a external drive thanks!

You should be able to use any "standard" laptop drive. Just make sure it's the correct type inteface (SATA or PATA).

Look on Acers website for a part number... or replace with a generic drive *IF* the front end isn't specially rounded or sculpted to align to your notebook chassis :)
