BSOD 0x0000003b after website crash

While using Chrome, the website I was viewing crashed and again after refreshing the page, followed shortly by my laptop locking up. Immediately following the lockup, a BSOD with error code 0x0000003b happened. It doesn't seem to be related to a particular browser, as it happens in Firefox as well.

Rebooting resulted in a BSOD with different codes (24,7e,1e) and i was unable to start windows normally or enter safe mode. I reseated the memory and was able to boot normally, but the BSOD persist. Doing that seems to have made things manageable.

I ran Memtest86+ for close to 4.5 hours with no errors. I also ran Seatools to test my HD with no errors being reported.

So, first of all, we are concentrating on the device driver, netwark adapter driver for say, as the dumps indicate some network related issues.

You have two network drivers installed, both are very old. Which one you actually use?

What you are to do is to upgrade the network driver:

Download the network card driver from manufactuer's website.
Then reinstall the driver:

1. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
2. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
3. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
4. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
5. Restart the computer

If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

I followed your suggestions; found drivers for the wireless card (Atheros A928x). The PCIe GBE family controller appears to be for ethernet, and i found that one as well.

I first uninstalled the Atheros driver software and rebooted. Windows updated the driver automatically.

After this, things get kinda fuzzy because I have had multiple BSOD errors after installing the new drivers, so the order in which the following occurred may not be entirely accurate. I haven't been able to try updating them manually. Basically, doing anything causes a BSOD (0x000000b3 and 0x000000DE, which I dont recall seeing before). Simply opening the device manager will cause a BSOD, assuming i got that far without a BSOD at an earlier point. On the rare occasion that I was able to get into the device manager, I noticed that windows had downloaded a bunch of additional drivers for network adapters.

I will attempt to get the most recent dmp files, but this is difficult at this point.

Do you think this is something a clean install of windows might remedy?

Boot into http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html, collect the dumps and upload those.

We need to see those at first.

I finally managed to get the DMP files, as my computer seems to have stabilized a bit sine last night. The .zip file includes many from the previous batch i sent.

I also included a picture of my device manager showing the other devices under "network adapters". I'm not sure what significance any of that might have. I just thought it was weird.

Overtow, dont be afraid of anything. Many of us have all those installed, as the Atheros one is up to date, it is ok.

The Dump, not very spicifically, but indicates some storage fault. You need to perform a Disc Check.

1. Reseat the sata and power.
2. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
3. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
   Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.
