Chrome BSOD 0x0000003b (and others)

Hi everyone. I'm at my wits end. I've scoured the net and am usually pretty good at figuring this out, but lately I've had a few BSOD errors that are driving me mad. Most seem to correlate around usb drivers, but I'm stumped. The latest one is caused when I try to open Chrome browser settings. I've never had to log in because I can normally read through old threads and figure my issue, but man I'm stumped

I've uploaded the utility zip as per instructions. I know there are a few bsod errors in there, the latest is from chrome, there was another from a while ago that would happen anytime I plugged in a usb-ttl cable.

It appears your installation is counterfeit, no support may be provided until you have genuinely activated your system on a clean install.

Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.

Well I bought this PC from a college kid with Win 7 already activated....go figure

If I buy same OS can I just enter the registration key, or do I have to completely re-install OS?

Yes you can reactivate windows or clean install it which would be best in the long run seeing all that has been happening.
