Hello,

My Synaptics Touch Pad on my Windows 7 HP machine has stopped working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I sometimes starts working again for a short time. The buttons still work, but the touch to click or select. The cursor still moves, but the tapping does not work. This is in all programs, IE, Word, etc.

I recieved several IE has stopped working, and reloading of pages while surfing. Then BSOD.

I need to know how to get the touch pad working again and what about the BSOD?

I will upload my file as requested.

Thanks for taking a look at this.

Arc,

Thanks for your thorough response. My touch pad is working again.

I have not uninstalled Smart Defrag and the others. I'm curious why they should be uninstalled. Please explain.

I updated AMD and Online Armour. I uninstalled and installed the touch pad.

Well...

That didn't last long. My touch pad worked for about 30 minutes.

1) Do you think the touch pad had anything to do with the BSOD?
2) Any ideas about what I can do about the touch pad?

Thanks,
Fire Fly

PS I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the touch pad 8 or 10 times. Sometimes it helps for a short time. Sometimes there is no change.

Fire Fly, as far the dumps say, the touchpad is not the cause of the crashes at all. those are caused by the graphics driver and the network driver.

Sorry to know that the touchpad is not working properly at all.

Better you keep it to to vendor and ask fro possible replacements. I guess you are within warranty?
BTW, is it crashing anymore?
