Hello,

I have a computer that keeps blue screening with various codes, some that i have logged are: 0x0000007e, 0x00000065 - memory1_initialization failed, 0x0000004e, and 0x0000000a.

I have tried to google the codes but cant seem to narrow down the problem, seems to most likely be a driver.

I have done all available windows updates including optional with no success.

Machine info:
Win 7 Pro SP1
AMD Athlon II X3 440 Proc 3.0Ghz
4GB RAM
64 BIT

Any help would be appreciated, and if you need any more info please say.

Zip file hopefully attached.

Thanks.

Hi Mdixon,

BSOD are not my area, but i have some comments
(not been a nice machine for you has it)

The day before, 14/6, your first DMP

2 netframework updates appeared to have problems - did they install
KB2750147 KB2805221

You appear to have had a situation with the naming of it, event log should report Comp renamed it didnt
OFF2 to OFF2A and back to OFF2
(note its still experiencing problems with Domain registration and connection and maybe GPO's)

Prior to that i can see multiple system repair failures, BSOD code reported 0124 sometimes relates to a hardware error, but i'll let the experts give you a more detailed explanation of the support codes it came with.

Roy

Thanks for the reply Roy, there are no outstanding updates so i guess they installed second time round.

The pc did have a trust issue with the domain so did take it off then back on so maybe that is linked with that?!

We have recently replaced/upgraded the domain server.

The start of the BSOD does seem to tie in with some hardware drivers being installed via windows updates, but have no restore point to go back - doh!

Hopefully the experts can point me in the direction of a specific piece of hardware causing the issue.

Thanks again.

All done & updated, just noticed this machine doesn't have AVG antivirus on it so will be putting AVG business on it now.

Anything else let me know.

Thanks.

1 of the dumps show the Nvidia network driver, which is pretty old.
Check if HP has a driver update, or reinstall the driver.
I would also recommend a memory test if you haven't done one yet, see below for instructions.

Code:
2: kd> lmvm nvmf6264
Browse full module list
start end module name

Diagnostic Test

 RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

   Note
attachment.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

Ran Mem Test with no errors and 19 passes, also updated the network driver to 73.3.0 dated Aug 16, 2010, so a little bit newer.
