BSOD: 0x000000AB SESSION_HAS_VALID_POOL_ON_EXIT -- Help!

I was playing warcraft 3 on my garnea client, when all of the sudden my computer crashes and I get the BSOD with this message: BSOD: 0x000000AB SESSION_HAS_VALID_POOL_ON_EXIT

All my computer hardware is up to date, and compatible. How do I fix this so it will never happen again? What does this mean?

Initially the following actions might prevent an error like this from happening again:

1. Download and install updates and device drivers for your computer from Windows Update.
2. Scan your computer for computer viruses.
3. Check your hard disk for errors.

Did the RAM test and Hard Drive error test, and both came clean (no errors on either). But, right after I completed the hard drive test, I got a BSOD: 0x0000005A CRITICAL_SERVICE_FAILED

JMH, I always do those 3 steps.

I don't know why I keep getting blue screens! This is very frustrating! I just want a problem free system.

EDIT: Should I uninstall AVG Antivirus , and use MSE instead? I heard AVG can give BSOD's, but I'm not sure if this is true.

In all of my .dmp files, I always see "ntoskrnl.exe" highlighted.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Are you dual booting or having problems booting up or shutting down?

Nope, I'm not having problems booting up or shutting down, nor am I overclocking. What I actually did was download a program called "slimdrivers", and it detected some out of date drivers. Needless to say, some of the new drivers it suggested installed, and some didn't. So we'll see if I still get this BSOD with some of these new drivers I installed. My guess is it's a hardware issue.

That fix is for bug found in Windows 8 with the GDI found in the Windows subsystem (win32k.sys), and isn't related to Windows 7.

Ok, sorry, I took liberties in posting it here, but well intentioned as I had problems locating the solution to the problem in my windows 8, but this thread comes up in a search for the SESSION_HAS_VALID_POOL_ON_EXIT , so I thought would be useful to others as it would have been for me, and it was an old discussion. Anyway my apologies.
