Greetings all,
Very nice and useful you site and your utilitly
A friend's laptop (Sony VAIO PCG - 5K2M)
has a problem with a BSOD,
0x00000124(0x00000000,0x85FB3B58,0xB8000040,0x00000800)

I can only boot in Safe Mode (and with Networking) and i clean up v9 malware and dosearches
before and after cleaning the pc from malware the laptop could not boot normally in Windows Vista.
When starting in normal mode after few seconds shows the BSOD and restarts continuously.
Also the laptop is very warm down front left side
In Safe Mode you can work for few hours but it stops after it heat up.
The temperatures of CPU is almost 100 Celsius degrees after 15 min of working in Safe Mode.
i had run the SF tool and get minidumbs.

Welcome to the 7forums

Although this forum isn't meant for Vista, I'll gladly help.

A 100C is way too hot, overheating can cause hardware damage where the 0x124 occurance would be explained as the 0x124 is a hardware error. WHEA = Windows Hardware Error Architecture, if this crash occurs it means that there is either a hardware problem or something is letting the system think there is a hardware problem.

If anyone you know can open the laptop to clean the laptop from dust and if possible also reapply thermal paste on the CPU it may help cooling down the laptop and get it back to normal if there are no other problems.
If nobody you can do this properly, I suggest you take it to a shop to let it cleaned up.

I highly recommend to not use the laptop until it is at least checked for dust.
