Hi,

I've never had a problem with Windows 7 until today.

Today I was working online and the screen froze, a few seconds later I got the BSOD with Error 0x00000124.

I rebooted and the computer ran fine for about 10 minutes, then same BSOD error. I tried Restoring to several days ago, same problem, same BSOD.. (However, if I boot up in Safe Mode w/Networking, It doesn't crash!)

I don't know what to do? I can't seem to attach the .dmp file, it just says "Invalid File" when I try to attach it and I don't know how to open it?

I've attached the only information I have as of right this minute...

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 124
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: FFFFFA8008F221D8
BCP3: 00000000B2000040
BCP4: 0000000000000800
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

Anyone able to help?

Thanks!

Well, bugchecks of 0x124 are 99% of the time caused by hardware failure. The dump files don't actually contain much useful information. The only thing we can do is stress test the components to make sure all hardware is working correctly.
Follow the instructions on the links on how to run these stress tests.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

Memtest scans for bad addresses within physical memory, if RAM is the issue then this test should find it.
Run memtest86 for at least 8 passes, the more passes the better.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100356-video-card-stress-test-furmark.html

Furmark video card stress test will most likely crash your system if you have a faulty graphics card. Run the test for around 30 minutes, if you see no artifacts or your system doesn't crash then it's most likely not your GPU.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-hardware-stress-test-prime95.html

Prime95 will stress test your CPU, this is the most likely cause of 0x124 errors. If you get any errors in Prime95 then your CPU is at fault and it should be replaced.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/313457-seatools-dos-windows-how-use.html

Just in case the rest fail just test your HDD to see if it's failing, it will most likely not be caused by a failing HDD but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I have experienced this with my computer where in the unlikely event that all tests pass, and I have found out that 0x124 errors can be caused by device drivers. This is highly unlikely but I have seen it happen. So please post the results of the stress test.
