BSOD 0x00000A after turning on computer.

Hi, I am relatively new to this so please forgive me If i am not well versed on computer lingo.

So I have a HP M6 1068ca. I was printing off some stuff when I accidently shut down my computer. (I meant to press sleep) When I opened my computer again, It showed the starting windows screen then black. a half minute or so later, a BSOD shows up. It said something about 0x(A amount of 0s)A. I forced shut down and opened my computer again, same thing. This time i tried unplugging the usb cord for the printer and starting up, and I finally got on my computer.

Would anyone have a sort of idea as to why this is happening? My computer is relatively new and this is my first issue.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hi Arc,

I have ran Driver Verfier for 24 hours, and as of yet I have not have another BSOD. I do have this strange issue with Windows Update telling me its "service is not running" but i do not think this is related to 0x000000a.

Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this:

• Click on the Start rb:
• Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box
• When it opens, go to File, Save
• Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember
• Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info
• Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder
• Upload the .zip file here.

Re your BugCheck A and its usual causes:

STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Usual causes: Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows,
Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility

Start Menu\Programs\Norton Internet Security	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Norton Internet Security	Public

Please uninstall Norton Internet Security. It's a known cause of BSoDs.

I am currently running to Norton Removal tool.
What was interesting is that when I did a reboot for disabling verifier I actually got another BSOD 0x00000a
Thank you for the solutions. If I fail to see a BSOD for a few weeks I will mark this as solved.

Hi guys. New update.

I finished installing MSE and just now I got a brand new BSOD. This one is 0x000000f4.

Reset your CMOS Battery following this link:

If the problem persists, we'll have to enable verifier.

New update.
I finished the full scan of MSE and it came up saying I had a virus that was preventing me from updating windows or even turning on firewall. After some sleuthing online I came to the conclusion that I could be infected by a rookit. I tried to remove it with Microsoft fixit and troubleshooting but it told me I had an error but they could not fix it. Can someone advise me on what to do next?
