BSoD After installing New RAM MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using equal/even number of ram throughout the system.. I.E. if you running 3x 2g which is equal to 6g of ram I would highly recommend using 4x 2g of ram which will take all the slots since you only have 4 slots. or you should just get 2 x 4gs = 8g of ram but if you want to stick with 6gigs of ram, I would return all three rams and get 2X 3gs which will still leave you with 6gigs of ram. I think it's the issues with MotherBoard/Chipset which causing this issue. You are always suppose to use equal amount of memory on 2 slots or equal amount of memory on all 4 slots.

Also,
Right click "Computer" > "Properties" > on the left panel you'll see "Advance System Settings", click on that make sure the "Advance" tab is select on the top and than click on "Settings" for Performance section ... when the "Performance Options" windows pops up click on "Advanced" and under the Virtual Memory what's the Total paging file size for all the drives?. (write that number down) and than click on "Change", when the Virtual Memory Window pops up make sure it's checked or "Automatically manage paging for file size for all drives".

This might help, but I would highly suggest getting the equal amount memory for two slots or all four slots, REMEMBER EQUAL AND EVEN when buying RAM. That's why you never see manufacturers having odd amount of ram or slots when you buy new computers cause it just causes issues.

@ Vista King: Thank you. When I tried installing, I got the error message: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." Any other ideas for that dirver?

@ FalikAlfonse: I appreciate your input! I will try your advice by first taking out one stick and see if I get any BS. If not, I will replace with a different stick (in case one of the sticks is faulty), then once more for the third stick. If all is well, I will put all three back in and if I do get another BS, I will get a fourth stick.

FYI, The Corsair RAM I have in my pc now came brand new in a package of three! (3 x 2Gb)

The Auto manage paging IS checked and the Total pagin file size is currently: 5943Mb and it says recommended 8914Mb. Should I change it to 8914?

I would highly recommend running this full dell diagnostics. This will tell is any of your hardware is not performing how it suppose to be. Plus it will give you more help if it finds anything.

@ Vista King: When I tried installing the driver, I got an error message saying that my computer did not have the minimum requirements for the software. It also tried to overwrite newer garphics and audio drivers currently on my computer with older versions. I rejected that option.

@FalikAlfonse: I tried running the full diagnostics. The first time, I ran it overnight and woke up to a BS. I tried it again just now and saw the tests. The space ship thing was really cool! Most were green checks. The video something failed. I forgot exactly what it said and I didn't see the rest of the tests because I figured it would be on a final report in the end but the entire test failed at the end. I never got a full report. I will try it again tomorrow.

have you ran " Chkdsk /f /r " ? I am showing a BUGCHECK 24 in the dmp file

Click on the rb: button type CMD inside Search programs and files. Right-click on CMD under neath Programs (1) choose Run as administrator. On the User Access Control window click on the Yes button . Once the Command Prompt window opens up type the command below.

Chkdsk /f /r

Press <ENTER>

It will tell you that it will need to schedule after a restart Press the Y key on your keyboard and press <ENTER> then restart the PC manually.

@ Vista King: I ran CHKDSK. I didn't know it was going to take FOUR HOURS!!!! Anyway, I thought I would be able to see the results on the screen or there would be some kind of report when it finished. But I don't have anything unless there is a path I should go to find it? I tried to read it at the end before it automatically restarted but it was too fast.

@ FalikAlfonse: I did a Windows Update pretty recently. When I went to the Dell site so DL the chipset and video card drivers for my model and tried to install, a message popped up saying the drivers I currently have on my computer are newer than the drivers I was about to install so I aborted that install.

Ok, I finally decided to remove the card from slot #3 (physical slot #1) So now I have 4Gb RAM in two slots (Slot 1 & 2, physical slots 2 & 4). Here is a photo of the RAM and the minidumps. We never fixed the bad driver igdkmd64.sys.

So I'll wait now and see if it crashes on 2 sticks of RAM or not.

The image of the RAM stick in the image goes with a 3 memory kit (3x2GB) to equal 6GB . That's for triple channel motherboards . Your motherboard is a dual channel motherboard . Even though you have 4 memory slots your memory won't work to what the memory is meant for .

To replace memory kit modules you replace the entire kit if one memory stick goes bad .

Wow! So this could be my problem!? So are you saying that if get a fourth RAM stick it won't fix the problem and that I should get 3 or 4 individual sticks of 2Gb? Do they have to be from the same manufacturer?

You would need a dual channel memory kit . If you want to fill up the entire memory slots you would need two dual channel memory kits

Well, it's been a few days since I removed one stick of RAM but I finally crashed again. I guess like you said the real problem here is that I am running RAM design for a triple channel board when I have a dual channel.

Please look at page one of the specs for this computer. It says memory configuration supported is 4, 6, or 8Gb.

I would like to start off with 6Gb (3 x 2Gb) for now. If I decide later, can I upgrade by adding another 2Gb stick or do I have to start all over and get 4 x 2Gb of the same brand or a kit?

For dual channel you need a memory kit that comes in pairs .

For example 2x4GB is 2 sticks of memory where each stick has 4GB to make it 8GB . If you want to fill the four DIMM Slots you would need two dual channel kits same manufacture and speed .

Did you see in the manual where it says I can run 6Gb RAM?

So, it's been over a week now since my last blue screen. I'm still running the two sticks of 2Gb Corsair RAM.

I just talked to the guy at Fry's Electronics on the phone. I was gonna see if I could exchange the Corsair kit because they sold me a triple channel kit for my dual channel board. He insisted that I can use the triple channel sticks on a dual channel board with no problem. It just might not be as fast as if I were using it with a triple channel board.

I don't know what to do now. He suggested one of the sticks or slots might be bad. But everything works fine with all slots filled with 1Gb RAM. And I highly doubt there is anything wrong with the Corsair RAM.

He said I could do a memtest on each Stick one at a time. Seems like a pain in the @ss.

Whoa! Check this out: I just ran Speccy and it shows that my two sticks of RAM are DUAL channel. Nevermind. I guess it means my computer is dual channel as you said.
