I was running a few windows of firefox, started witcher 2 and the system froze so i hit the restart button and have received a 0x000000F4 BSOD that i cant get past.
I've been playing the witcher 2 for about 2 weeks so didnt happen from first play.

*cant boot to safe mode as it goes to bsod also
*tried last known good config no luck
*tried the restart loop tutorial but it did not work
*ran memtest found no errors

Pulled my computer apart and cleaned out all dust, reseated cpu and ram and gpu.

I was able to chose the dont auto restart on system failure and got this info from the bsod.

stop: 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003,0xFFFFFA8009208B30,

im unable to access windows or safemode, i can access mini xp in hirens though. It has bluescreen view installed, im unfamilier with minixp so is there a way i can create the dump file? I can access windows folders.

I can also conclude that is has nothing to do with hardware as i put the hdd in another machine and it did the exact same thing. I ran seagate hdd test and chkdsk and no errors were found.

Sorry that I missed that in your first post.
Try these free, bootable malware tests: Free Online AntiMalware Resources

You can zip up the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump and upload it with your next post (using Hirens).

Did you run Memtest for at least 3 passes?
Did you run the Seagate long/extended test? (not the short/quick one)

Can you get into Startup Repair? If so, try it 3 times, rebooting between each attempt.

after exhausting every option i just opted for a reinstall. I was able to back up all my files by accessing the HDD in mini xp so at least i didnt lose anything..

Its up and running smoothly now just transferring files and installing progs.

I cant say if its related although the day it crashed i got a missed call from a local number. For some strange reason i decided to search the number in google to see if it was a business and i traced the number to a town in Romania. I live in Australia so obviously that was suspicious

Im guessing they were going to redirect the phone call with me thinking i was calling a local number. Dont know how they got my number maybe some account i had got hacked and they retrieved my details.

Well despite the need to backup and then reinstall everything, there's a benefit to having a nice, fresh install of Windows!
Good luck!
