Hello all. I have, for the last few weeks, been getting bluescreens after having my computer on for a few hours. I can't remember the exact bluescreen error code, but I know it is a STOP error. I have included the output from DM Log Collector.

If you need any more information to help me debug this, just let me know. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I have also now added the output from running WhoCrashed.

Make it sure that the SSD is running with the latest firmware.

Also Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall the program at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Let us know for any further BSOD.

Thanks for the response Arc.

My SSD was running with the latest firmware, although it would not let me do the secure erase on the primary drive, but I assume that's irrelevant - the firmware was up to date.

I have stopped a number of programs running on startup, I will wait and see if anything changes. I also uninstalled Daemon Tools, but have not heard of Alcohol 120% or Power Archiver Pro, and they did not appear to be in my list of installed programs. But anyway, I ran the SPTD program, and it said there was none remaining.

Thanks again for your help - I will report back soon.

Disc health is good.

If the issue continues, we will concentrate on the physical connections.

I have been running for about six hours straight since doing your suggestions, with games open the whole time. Before this would have caused a bluescreen by now with about 90% certainty - the issue looks fixed, touchwood. I will report back later this evening again, but for now, things are looking good! Thanks for your help!

The computer has been running for about 36 hours straight now with no issues - I am well and truly satisfied that the issues have been solved. Thanks again for your help!
