I had this computer for a year now and it works just fine. Occasionally it gives me a blue screen of death but i didn't really care about it. I just have to hard reboot my computer. I think my computer has gotten to the point where it gives me BSOD, locks up randomly after i booted up my computer to windows. It also sometime makes a "burr" sound from my speakers. I have tried running SeaTool to test my hard drive and it passed Long test. But the first time i ran SeaTool, my computer locked up. The second time i ran it, it passed. I have also ran ChkDsk and it passed too. I have not ran memTest86+ more than 3 hours but it did not give me any error during that 3 hours that I ran. This is a fully clean window 7.

When it booted up it gave me

Here is what I give for the 0x124 crashes: You have a 0x124 hardware bugcheck. If the system is still under warranty, I would recommend sending it in to have diagnostic tests done and any bad hardware replaced.
   Warning
Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. :warn:WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

For your hardware stop 0x124 crash, read through http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html and use the following hardware checks to supplement that link.

  • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

  • Monitor temperatures during the following tests.
Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures.

  • Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

For Part 3: If You Have Errors: If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
    1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
    2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
    3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
    4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.
Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

Remember to read closely through http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html for the crash.

As for the BIOS: there are a number of BIOS updates that do improve system stability, so I would recommend updating.
   Warning
Never interrupt a BIOS update. It can lead to your system no longer being able to turn on at all.

Okay, i will follow the steps that you have posted.

I ran memTest86 over night. It passed all 8 tests.
Ran fur mark for a few minutes then it restarted.

It is a custom build computer. Its been over 1 year so warranty does not cover it.

One thing is that, my computer locks up/ reboot even when it is not under any loads. I could not install those monitor temp programs wihtout restarting bunch of times.

The locking up under no loads is definitely within the hardware realm of problems. Those tests should help narrow down possible reasons for that behavior, as well. Best of luck!

Okay It restarted but i still get BCCode 124.

Which test should I run first to see which part of my hardware is faulty? The reason is that, i was not able to run any test because it restarts so often

Start with the Memtest86+ diagnostics. Memory_management points to a memory issue.

Memtest86+ runs outside Windows, so there should not be a problem with it running.

Try pulling all but one memory module and see if you can run Windows more reliably. Memtest86+ is not failsafe and does miss errors 25-30% of the time. It can also take up to 21 passes for Memtest86+ to catch an error in a memory module.

I pulled out one stick and it seem to be fine at the moment. Not sure how long this will last. But one think is that i hear grinding sounds. Not sure from where. It does a grind sound every 5 min or so.

Could be the hard drive. Could also be a fan. Those are the most common grinding sounds. Check your fans for any wires that might be blocking or preventing them from spinning properly. Also check for dust in the fans. Make sure to check your power supply fan as well as the fans on the motherboard and graphics card.

Sounds like your BIOS settings have been changed; this could happen from all the reboots due to memory corruption. First step is to go into the BIOS and the Exit screen, select Load Setup/Optimized Defaults, save, and exit.

Then reset the hardware/software connections in the BIOS and clear the temporary memory of any corruption.
  1. Shut down and turn off the computer.
  2. Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
  3. "Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect
cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." (Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
  4. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all
power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS
and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
  5. (If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard,
and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.
  6. Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware

Okay. I brought a new ram, powersupply and harddrive.

( Kingston Hyper x blu 4gb ddr3 1333mhz)When i try to plug in this new ram that i brought, and when i press the power button, it is not sending signal to my monitor. Then i use my old ram, it sent signal to my monitor.

( Antec 550 Watts atx12v v2.3 basiq) Then i kept on using my old ram there. I tried using a new power supply, i plugged everything in but when i press the ON button on my computer, the lights goes on for a split second then it turns off. I went back to my old powersupply and everything powers on.

Now i am going to test out this new harddrive and install window 7. --- My computer Locked up during installation of window 7 using new harddrive. Does this mean its not Harddrive problem?
