Ive recently started getting random BSODs "PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA" stop 0x00000050. It happens frequently at random and usually while the PC is sat doing nothing strangely enough. they can happen every 5 mins after loading windows up, or not for a few hours while the PC is sitting idle.

To fix ive tried: unplugging all but my OS HDD, disconnecting every USB device besides the wireless mouse/keyboard, taking all but one stick of RAM out, running disk check for HDD errors, memory diagnostic check, system restore but i had no restore points other than one yesterday which was pointless, checking event manager for any clues (but im not sure what to look for in particular though i am getting a hell of alot of capI2 warning/errors, about 6 every few minutes) running Everest CPU, memory, HDD stress tests for about an hour, driver verifier came back without a problem and these last two to tests i really thought would create a BSOD giving me an opportunity to narrow down the problem, but no nothing happened until my PC was sat idle an hour later and bang another one out of knowhere...

i used the src \scannow cmd and it came up with
"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log"
So i thought the problem was this corrupt file so decided to reinstall windows 7 again or at least a WinRE repair, but now when i try to boot OS from DVD i get:

"Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer.

If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.

Status: Oxc00000e9

Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred."

just when i thought it was driver related it slaps me with what seems to be a hardware error. So i tried unplugging all but one HDD that is empty ( no OS installed etc.) and booting win7 dvd to fresh install again but no the same error...

Im really stuck now i just dont know what to try, usually another forum post will solve my own problem but not this time, ive provided some crash dump files from yesterday the times on them show how close together and often the BSODs can be, im not sure what to look for, i just dont know which part hardware or software is to blame!?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me!

Forgot to mention it doesnt seem to BSOD in safe mode after about an hour of use, another reason to point to software/driver errors, though the "faulty hardware, 0xc00000e9" error says otherwise. geez, im so confused with this one...

I used windows memory diagnostics, after about 12 passes it didnt bring up one error. an option that came up after windows wouldnt re-install when booting from disc. Would the memory corruption point towards certain drivers/areas used by memory being corrupt too. Im about to run memtest now and wait for the results.

Out of my 3 ram modules 2 were brought as a pair a year or so ago and one was brought second hand off ebay about 3 months ago, i have tried without the second ram and i still had a BSOD without it. If it is one of the older ram modules is there any reason for the corruption and is there a possibility they are both going to give up on me.

Il post back with the results when i have them.

Memtest got to the second pass after about 2 hours without any errors but while i was out the room my PC restarted and i didnt get a chance to see why. Im really not sure what the problem is now or what else to try. Its seems it must be a hardware problem as its happening without windows running, so maybe the CPU, MOBO or PSU though the PSU is only 2 months old and my CPU has been stress tested... Has anyone got any ideas what i could try next??

Are you overclocking any hardware? If so, restore everything back to default.

Hey, thanks for the reply. No im not overclocking anything i never do. I didnt actually BSOD for about 3 days so i though something id done had solved it, i managed to leave my computer on idle on night the other night and it hadent BSOD by the morning and even playing team fortress 2 constantly for about 6 hours with no problems.
But out of knowhere today its BSOD again same error and while it was idle.
Im now installing windows 7 to a new hard drive as letting me without the "failing hardware device" error i had before, hopefully the fresh install will allow to pinpoint what the problem is e.g. if it doesnt BSOD on the new install it must be driver related.
Again any ideas would be greatly apreciated

Can you isolate each of your RAM sticks (have one in at a time) and then start the computer? You've said that you've done this on one stick but now try it on all of them.
