BSOD at start of W7, ATIKMDAG.SYS

Recently I have been starting my computer and getting a BSOD at the beggining of W7. The screen goes white, then black, and a BSOD appears indicating a problem with ATIKMDAG.SYS. I´ve installed the latest driver for the video card.

This is not all the time. It happens only once in a while (twice this week), and after reboot nothing shows, and everything is normal. Any ideas???

Please post dump file for analysis, read this if your not sure how

In the mean time try uninstalling all gfx driver/software package and reinstalling or try only installing driver without full bundle of software, if still wont work could try older driver

If it is a true BSOD that dump file is essential. Our BSOD guru, will ask for it first thing.

One more thing. This happens not all the time. I'd say about once every 10 startups, so the system does not show any errors any of the other times.

Hi and welcome

This one was pretty clear Your video driver. You should download and install a fresh copy.

I would also run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin> sfc /scannow

Hi All!!! OK, after checking the driver problem, I uninstalled the whole deal. Then I downloaded the lastest driver from MSI "ATI_8.66RC7_Win7_Vista", and installed it new. Then two days I had the same problem again. Here is the dump file for your view. Same file problem "atikmdag.sys" Any ideas???
