Hello, I have been having problems with the new computer I put together a week ago.

Best description of the problem. When running games [starcraft II in this case], my display will go black, sound will continue for about 3-4 seconds, and my computer will restart without display. Mobo will beep long-short-short-short to indicate no VGA was detected. A power-off then power-on brings the display back and windows returns the error:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA800A6084E0
BCP2: FFFFF8800FA6EF10
BCP3: FFFFFFFFC000009A
BCP4: 0000000000000004
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

Half of the times this has happened, my fans (on the video card I think) will begin to spin rapidly during the reboot. Other times they won't. I was monitoring CPU temp and GPU temp during crashes. CPU temp always remains a reasonable distance ~20-25 C below maximum 98C temperature (at maximum). I don't overclock anything. I think I have verified that my video card is not overclocked; and its temperature never usually exceeds 72-74C.

I'm not sure if I'm still missing a driver. I thought I had installed everything correctly and from a hardware side of things, everything seems to be running fine. There are nights where there is no problem and everything runs smooth. Can someone tell me what the error indicates, and possibly guide me in the right direction? I would be sincerely appreciative. I'm running windows 7 home OEM from newegg (Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - Operating Systems).

I have attached the perfmon report and bsod-dump viewer output folder in the perf_bsodrep.zip

Thanks :\

Code 116 is generally a graphics code, I'm on the wrong computer to properly debug right now, but I would suggest wiping current video driver and reinstalling as a first step.
Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper
is a handy tool for wiping the driver.

I also suggest adjusting the video card control stuff to application controlled, until you can get around the problem.

Thanks for the tip, but the problem persists regardless ><

If anyone has any other advice or can look at the error itself I'd be sincerely appreciative; but I'm not sure where to go from here.

Start off by removing Dameon Tools/Alcohol 120%. Its driver, SPTD, is known to cause BSODs. Once the program is removed run the SPTD removal tool. DuplexSecure

You can also test your memory

Have you tried your video card in a different slot if you have one on the motherboard? Also, what type of power supply do you have?
