My Dell Studio laptop 1745 got the bsod a couple weeks ago. Ive tried doing a repair with a boot disk as well as a Windows 7 Install disk. Only the boot disk gets me to System Recovery Options but even then i keep getting the same message using either disk:

0xc000000f
The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible

I dontvknow what to do next. I tried using the command prompt to see if my drive would even show up and inputting C:Dir only shows that the c drive contains recovery and has 4 entries. 2 from 2009 when the recovery partition was created and 2 from august 2015 that i created because for some reason it said i didnt have a recovery partition.

There is a file called recsys in one if the original partitions.

***Im getting a message that appears to indicate that im posting a question thatvhas already been posted and i am doing that as the site indicated that the last time my question was asjed was over 720 days ago and that i should start a new thread. I dont want to do anything wrong. I am at my wits end and dont know what to do. I just tried to do i clean install and im getting a message that the proper drivers are not available so now i probably have to burn a new dvd of the iso for windows 7. Plus, somebody marked out all the letters on my license key on my computer so now what do i do about that? I dont have any other documentation.

It sounds like your hard drive has failed.
I would recommend to run following bootable tests if possible to verify that the hard drive indeed has failed.

Diagnostics Test

 HDD TEST

I cannot run Tools for Windows as I cannot start my system. I will try to burn a Tools for DOS that is bootable to check my hard drive.

If my hard drive is shot is there any way to get a copy of a ISO I created several months ago off of the hard drive?

Thanks,

Danny R

cannot start laptop using System Recovery

I found my Windows installation disk, ran a pre-boot test by pressing F12 at startup which said it could not find a problem, inserted my installlation disk and got the attached Startup Repair report.

At this point should i try any of the System Recovery Options or do a clean reinstallation of Windows?

I do not care about any files on the leptop.

Thanks,

I would recommend a clean installation immediately, the file system is damaged/corrupted but the extend is unknown.
