Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.

This dump is for an Atheros driver and as we don't know what board or whatever you are using we cannot link you to anything until you have followed the above - sorry but it does make our job extremely hard not know specs.

· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7
· The OS is OEM version (came pre-installed on system)
· Age of system (hardware) = 8 years
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? 8 years...have not re-installed

· CPU = Intel i7 Q720
· Video Card = Nividia GeForce 310M
· MotherBoard - Laptop
· Power Supply -Laptop

· System Manufacturer = Toshiba Satellite P500

Ok mate some more info please can you look at the labels on the bottom of the machine and you should find a label as in my pic now I need that PART NO: because that denotes where the machine was made and made for ie US Europe Asia etc etc and to get the right driver for the Atheros it is important to know that info.

Also the OS is that a 32bit or 64 bit system because you have quoted x86 x64 - x86 = 32bit x64 = 64bit obviously that will be on the Microsoft COA sticker - the one that has the activation code - just a word I=of warning if you post a pic of that COA sticker make sure you obscure ate least three sets of code before attaching it.

Again it is important we know that to get the right driver. Plus are you hooking up to the net via wifi or Ethernet because there will be a drivers for each method.

Now I didn't ask if you has reinstalled the system so I am wondering why you have mentioned it - just out of curiosity.

Now just as a by the by seeing the age of the machine have you ever backed it up with say an image??
