Title may be little bit misleading but what i weant with that is that i had BSOD's then didn't have, now i have them again. My pc worked for 5 days without BSOD's and now it started again, i have checked the ram = 0 problems. What should i check next? Oh and BSOD's happends while gaming or not(but mostly during gaming) and my games will start freezing and then there goes BSOD. I mostly just use my internet now without any gaming because its barely possible to play games normally.

Hello 1ntu.

I'm not sure if it will help but there is a BIOS update available for your motherboard, you may want to try and update it:

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H61M-P20-G3.html#down-bios

Also I saw this in the eventlog just after that an unexpected shutdown had been logged and it seems that you are having some heating issues:

Thanks for the reply Boris :). So my CPU is overheating apparently? Is it possible that my heatsink might be damaged? I don't punch/kick/drop my PC, it never happened but maybe something is damaged in there. I once had this issue with overheating but it didn't prompt BSOD its just that i saw on the temp monitor that my CPU is at 90C on idle and everything was choppy. The solution was me going to the PC store and putting some thermal paste on my CPU.

It would mean alot to me if we can find what the exact problem is. I'll keep looking for CPU heating issues on google/youtube. Thanks once again

Hello 1ntu mate just how old is the machine because the compound could be due for renewal and out of interest are you using the stock cooler for that CPU??

The quoted 90C is really pushing the envelope because the Tcase for what it is worth is rated at 69.1C!! and in view of that it is probably due to the thermal shutdown of the CPU Intel® Pentium® Processor G645 (3M Cache, 2.90 GHz) Specifications

Now other things that impact are the case venting and ambient temps too so have you given all air vents screens a good clean?

Yar but I guess you didn't think about taking off the heatsink and checking if the thermal paste have burnt away or dried or that it's seated that it's not putting pressure on the whole CPU and that is where the heat starts to command and conquer.

And I must have been blind but if you have a stock heatsink, you will not get a huge cooling performance.

I would recommend and I think many will agree with me that you should buy, if you have the budget, a Hyper 212 Evo cooler.

You can probably find it on Inet.se, Webbhallen.se or Dustin.se.

I just checked and it's available for 349Kr at Webbhallen and Inet, if you want to buy it!

:ditto:
Look stock coolers are at best pretty ordinary made from an aluminium based alloy which has a poor heat transfer coefficient rating and and in my experience ok for emailing and general stuff. Most builders toss them out and fit something like Boris has suggested and I now prefer liquid - a bit more expensive but worth it. In fact it is interesting to note that Intel now ship their later CPU's without a cooler ;)
Just one thing before you go racing out and get an aftermarket cooler just check the dimensions out because some can be quite large and you may end up with something that will not fit inside the case or protrude over other components that you might need to get at and if that is so it means taking the cooler out to do stuff and then redo the compound again - a real pain in the neck. I know this because my Sandy Bridge build has a large air cooler on the CPU and to get at the RAM sticks for example I have to remove the cooler unit:(

Thanks for the answers guys, i was on a trip for a few days and had no internet to respond :P. Anyways when i came back home i opened my case and went on a good cleaning rampage for an hour.. made it all delicate and clean :). But when i was putting my CPU heatsink back on.. one of my push pins broke(well just the white plastic part that holds in in the motherboard).

Now my best solution and i think it was the only one for this problem is that i turned my computer on a side so that my heatsink will be horizontaly so it can be on my CPU and not dangling cuz of broken push pin. I also turned my HDD just in case the little nedlee doesnt break. Not a big deal for me atm.

Also i want to ask if this is the problem with overheating only and nothing else? I want to be sure. I have a budget for Thermaltake Contac 16 but i could possibly also get Cooler Master Hyper TX3i but its totally not a big deal for me, i just want it to cool better than the stock one.

Mate just turning the case on it's side will not be good enough because those push pins hold the heat sink firmly down with a slight pressure and if one broken doesn't make any difference that one side or corner will not be making a "pressurised" contact. You need to get an aftermarket kit. Now you have the option of an air cooled or liquid cooled system and some of the air cooled ones cna be really quite large so check the clearances inside the case to make sure whatever you buy will not impinge on the case or other components. Another drawback of that type is that some overhang the RAM sticks making access to them to other nearby components impossible without taking of the heatsink again - very tedious I can assure you.

If your budget will stretch to one a liquid cooler unit is easy to fir and takes up much less space and one that I can recommend is this one https://www.pccasegear.com/products/24056/intel-bxts13x-liquid-cooled-thermal-solution or this one https://www.pccasegear.com/products/30779/coolermaster-seidon-120v-plus-liquid-cpu-cooler If you look at the products on this site you can see how large the air cooled ones are.
