Thanks centaur78 thats what I was going to do. Its just memtest86 runs 11 different tests and it takes 4.5 hours to run 3 passes. As the ram only failed on test 8 could I just run that test on each stick in each slot?

Well here is how you do...

stick 1 on slot 1..... do test... when error occurs ,... stop

then put in stick 2 on slot 1..... do test ..... if error occurs....... SLOT 1 IS BAD !

If no error occurs even after 6 to 8 passes.. then RAM 1 is good.....

by the time you finish doing this you will find the culprit

The problem was with the first Memory slot.
Vacuumed out slot put some Electolube contact cleaner on the memory and inserted and removed it a few times.
So far only one reset in a few weeks.
I'll live with it until I update the MB.
