BSOD Driver Power State Failure :/ (going on a full year now, lol)

Well, I just cleaned out the fans, and the CPU fan was disgusting (I posted a pic a while back.)

The most recent crash could have been due to installing a driver and updating Java at the same time.
I noticed that the java update was acting funny and probably should have just reset my laptop at that point, but oh well.
It has been noticeably better since Blue has been helping me.

You may not even need Java. I'd keep it uninstalled until something prompts for it.

Now another little trick you can try if you like because if the fans were dirty then the rad is almost certainly filthy as well. If you get some of that chenille wire that kids play with it looks like pipe cleaners and they will do as well you can GENTLY push them in through the exhaust vent slots with fans running or giving quick air blasts from the fan side to get a lot of that out.

Warning make sure you put a stopper in the fan blades before blasting with air the speed caused by the air blast can have very detrimental effects on the fan bearings. Plus do not push the wicks in more than 3 cm.

I just noticed Gregs comment - good move I have had no probs without it on board.

There's been three new ones since the last time I was here.
Thank again..

Did you ever do the Clean Reinstall or is this still the factory preinstall, which as I explained much earlier is the worst possible install one can have of Win7.

Why come to the top resource for getting and keeping a perfect Win7 install and ignore our offer to help you get and keep one?

If that's my graphics card, I can't tell, haha. Yes
It's the version Dell gives to their users and they haven't given out their version of any of the updates for my card in over a year.

And Greg, I'm not ignoring you, it's just not something I want to do right now.
I need somewhere to store a backup of my data and I'm not in a place where I can go buy 300Gbs of storage.
Soon I will be doing the fresh install of Windows, and I would be honored to have you guide me through it.
I hate finding drivers I need, Dell has horrible service for it

huh, so you're saying that every driver should either be on the OS or able to update through windows update?
because whenever I do a dell install the disc they give me doesn't have about half of the drivers and windows update isn't able to find most of what it needs after I install the driver for my ethernet connection..
Wow dell is crappy.
I'm going to have to do this soon, i'll see if I can find some space to store my personal files and maybe we can start working on it soon? :D

But for now, it's been doing good for a solid month, then yesterday I got one and today when I logged on GuildWars2 I couldn't stop getting them..
I'm mostly curious if it's still blaming my graphics card.

Did you enable http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2803-device-installation-settings.html Option 3 and make sure to run all rounds of Important and Optional Updates to completion.

Never use the drivers from a disk which is outdated as soon as its burned.

Any drivers missing in Device Manager after all Updates are done can be imported from Dell Support Downloads webpage for your tag number. There are rarely more than 2-3.
