Solved bsod driver_power_state_failure ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0

My wife's Sony Vaio (VPCEE41FD) laptop has been acting up over the last few nights.
It would hang up on shutting down, taking sometimes over an hour+

Just tonight it decided to BSOD stating driver_power_state_failure ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0
If I recall, I think this happened about a month ago as well.
Nothing was being done at the time of the BSOD and I have it set to not hibernate or sleep, just power off the display.

Any suggestions or help are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

► I suggest you to uninstall Avast, right now. It is must in your situation.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows, with Windows firewall.
Avast firewall is causing a huge lot of troubles there.

► And, update your Atheros network adapter driver, from ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????).

You can see that the driver installed is very old.

► ATI Video Driver is causing equal troubles.

It is also very old and needs an update. Get it from AMD Support & Drivers.

► Auslogics is not a good example of a program. I recommend Puran Defrag.

I've gone ahead and updated both the Atheros and ATI drivers, both updated without any issues.

Since we have paid for a license on Avast, I've just disabled the firewall and activated the Windows firewall instead, but if anything seems out of the ordinary, I will remove it and install MSE.

I am wondering about that Puran Defrag you recommended, I haven't heard of it.

Anyways, thank you for the response, so far everything seems fine, but I will update if anything reoccurs.
