Hello Dear Members,

I have come to a point where I need some help with the BSOD...I have used this installation for 1 year without any problems. Last week I cleaned my pc from the inside, removing dust etc (carefully) and reinstalled my Windows Installation with a clean install (format c:/q).

After this I'm getting very long shutdown time, which take aroun 8-10 minutes and ends up with a BSOD with the failure message; DROVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.

I have done some research on how to decrypt BSOD files, but I don't see any drivers in the minidump files ( I'm not very good with computers so, experts need your advice. ) I do see that ntoskrnl.exe is the one usually occuring in the dump files.

This is what I did;

I reinstalled my computer for like 12 times with different scenarios

1st; Formatted the driver clean install, installed all Win Critical updates, BIOS, newest drivers from vendor (ASUS) website and changed my antivirus form F-Secure to Commode

2nd; Same as 1st session, but searched for even NEWER drivers for SATA controller and Wifi Controller via websites outside the vendors official page.

3rd; Downgraded the BIOS to a version which worked for a year, and used the original (old) drivers of the motherboard...except for the graphics card which is the newest via NVIDIA.

4th; Clean Installation with newest drivers for all components, and windows updates, with NO other software, not even a antivirus. which gave the BSOD as well.

5th; Clean installation newest drivers + antivirus

In between I repeated some installations i hope that it would work....all of em gave the BSOD.

I have to say that it doesnt occurs every single time, usually it happens after long use of the system like 6+ hours, and if i reboot and shut it down again after a few minutes it might give me the same BSOD or it doesnt... But when it goes BSOD the first time, usually it will do the same thing all over again.

I'm getting tired of this...and need some serious advice...the system worked fine for a year+ now it does this after I cleaned the system from dust, and reinstalled everything.

Sum up;
- Used Original Drivers and Old Bios
- Used New Drivers from Vendor + Newest Bios
- Used Newest Drivers from Vendor and Outside + Newest Bios
- Changed Antivirus
- Removed Antivirus
- Performed CHCKDSK and DEFRAG no problems occured
- Driver Verifier gave me the same BSOD

(All with clean installation every step)

I added my minidump files from the last installation and crashed. Hope you guys can help!

Thank you!

Try purchasing and installing a genuine Windows 7 installation instead of using a Lenova OEM on your retail motherboard, which can only report as genuine if the installation uses an activation crack.

Using genuine software is the surest way to avoid the problems you are experiencing.

I am going to take a look at this Windows thing, I am going to contact my local techie.

Still not understand why it worked well for a year.

Thats the problem with dodgy installations - you never know when it will strike. Ask your tech guy how it is possible to have an OEM installation on a custom system with retail motherboard, or give Microsoft a call and see what they say.
