Hi fellas,

I've recently purchased a new prostar laptop(clevo), installed win7 pro x64 and everything has been running relatively painless so far. recently i've had two BSOD events during restart and shutdown. Not much else to report as far as issues go although my external hard drive stop registering in device manager or disk management. hard drive is tested on another laptop fine so i suspect sufficient power is not getting transferred through the usb to power the HD. not sure if related i just want to finish up the new machine without having regular BSOD's.

cheers

I've made the changes you advised and i've restarted with no BSOD or issues so it looks pretty good, thanks.

On a side note can i ask what files you found those errors in. was it the minidump files? if so what software did you use to open them for viewing? just cause i'd like to be able to help myself in the future.

Once again thanks for your help i appreciate it.

cheers

Hi,
I'm getting BSOD's again and i can't seem to identify the error using WinDBG to open th minidump file. it displays correctly but i can't see any obvious error in the dump. are you able to have a quick look and see if you can spot it please.

avg is still gone and i'm running older nvidia drivers as you advised. cheers
